What is the best SIM card for Switzerland?

Should I buy a SIM card at Zurich airport?

When should I order my SIM card?

Order early enough for delivery, ideally one to two weeks before you travel. Activate it as soon as it arrives. At your destination, insert it, switch the line on and turn on data roaming.

Does the SIM card work in the mountains?

In the ski resorts, valleys and on the main routes, yes. High up in the mountains and in long tunnels the signal can drop, which is true for every network.

Does EU roaming work in Switzerland?

No. Switzerland isn’t in the EU, so the EU “roam like at home” rule doesn’t apply. Many home plans charge extra for Switzerland. With this SIM card you pay once and know your costs upfront.

What’s the difference between the data-only and the UK-number plans?

Data-only plans use a data SIM with no phone number. Plans marked “UK number & calls” use a SIM card with a UK (+44) number, so you also get unlimited calls and texts within Europe.

Can I keep my WhatsApp number?

Yes. WhatsApp stays linked to your usual number, even with a new SIM card in your phone. With a dual-SIM phone you can also keep your home SIM in for calls.

Can I share my data with other devices?

Yes, hotspot sharing is included.
