Frequently Asked Questions

Réunion eSIM: frequently asked questions

What is the best eSIM for Réunion?

One that works where you’re going. The BeachSIM Réunion eSIM covers Saint-Denis and the other main destinations, connects to another local network if one isn’t available and includes hotspot sharing.

Should I buy a SIM card at Réunion airport or an eSIM?

With an eSIM you skip the airport queue and you’re online as soon as you land. You also know the price upfront.

When should I buy and install my Réunion eSIM?

As early as possible. Your eSIM arrives instantly by email, so install it the moment it arrives. When you land, switch it on and turn on data roaming.

Does the eSIM work in the cirques and on hiking trails?

In the villages and on many popular trails, yes. Deep in the cirques and on remote trails the signal can drop, which is true for every network.

Can I make calls with the Réunion eSIM?

It’s data-only, so there’s no local phone number. Make voice and video calls through your messaging apps, which stay linked to your usual number.

Can I share my data with other devices?

Yes, hotspot sharing is included, so you can share your data with a tablet, laptop or a travel companion’s phone.

Is there an unlimited Réunion eSIM?

Our plans have fixed amounts of data, up to 25GB. If you use a lot of data, choose the largest plan.

Is my phone compatible?

Most iPhones from the XS/XR onwards and many recent Android phones support eSIM. Your phone must also be network-unlocked. Tip: dial *#06#. If an “EID” appears, your phone supports eSIM.
